The London & South East Region (LSER) is an area-wide group formed to enable connection between the CoDA groups in our area. Meetings are principally a forum for Group Service Representatives (GSRs) and members to come together in CoDA spiritual principles of service and unity to discuss CoDA business, share what is working in their meetings, raise issues, and discuss putting on events and other community building activities.
Currently CoDA is struggling nationwide to fill service positions and the LSER may not be able to continue if no-one comes forward to do service.
This will be the main topic for discussion at the meeting.
Positions vacant from July are: Chair, Comms Secretary, Minutes Secretary, Regional Rep. All service positions can be shared between members, and anyone coming forward to do service will be supported by the outgoing members.
Please announce and post the zoom joining link in your groups. All CoDA members are welcome to attend the meeting.
In recent years, the National Service Committee (NSC) of CoDA UK has flourished, with members filling most of the available service positions. However, due to personal circumstances, several committee members have recently had to step down from their roles, and this means there are a number of vacant positions, which could have an impact on the work of the NSC.
To take account of all these changes and ensure the health of the NSC, it has been agreed by members that we will hold an open Group Inventory to look at the NSC and its work at our next scheduled meeting on 7th May. Everyone in the fellowship is welcome to attend.
The format for this session is included in the attached agenda and the meeting will be chaired by Andy from the London and South East Region.
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday 7th May.

We meet online every 3 months on the 2nd Saturday in Jan, Apr, July and Oct between 1.30 and 5pm. All CoDA members are welcome to attend. If you are interested in attending please send an email to Annie (comms sec) at coda.uk.se.region@gmail.com or see the posts on the CoDA UK Noticeboard WhatsApp group or on the events page on the website.

CoDA UK’s North Region Intergroup is trying something new for our next quarterly meeting.
A CoDA member said that a healthy regional group is a “Home Group for Home Groups“.
We would like to explore this concept together in Fellowship.
The meeting is open to all members, including Group Service Representatives (GSRs) and newcomers alike. We are inviting CoDA members from Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Ireland and the North of England and Midlands to join us for an afternoon of fellowship and sharing online on Zoom.
We can raise any concerns, problems or questions from our Home Group, or individually, to share with each other about our experiences of attending a CoDA meeting, Step Groups, Sponsoring/looking for a Sponsor and especially sharing our experiences during the disruptions of the past many months at these most difficult of times.
In this Workshop we can find new opportunities to broaden our Recovery in the Fellowship of CoDA. We can bring news and views from our local meetings that are important to us, where we will be heard in an atmosphere of love, friendship and fellowship and where it will be a safe space to hear or share our Experience, Strength and Hope of CoDA Recovery.
We will be using breakout rooms during the workshop so we can meet and chat with members from other meetings in smaller groups, and then all come back together as a whole group in order to share all the issues and ideas presented: a melting pot of ideas and initiatives to strengthen our CoDA Fellowship and support each other with our own experience, strength and hope carrying us through to our happy road to recovery from codependency and to encourage inclusivity.
The workshop will be held in a relaxed and informal way, following the CoDA Preamble, Welcome, Steps & Traditions, and other CoDA meeting literature.
Some literature it might be useful for groups and members to read together with their Home groups and have in mind when you attend the workshop are:

The following agreed proposals from recent NSC meetings may guide us in our service: 20th March 2021 NSC meeting Agenda item 1 – That the minutes to NSC meetings be limited to the proposals/ votes only and relevant committee member’s reports detailing business information e.g. Treasurer’s Report/ PI/ Hospitals and Institutions. The minutes will include ‘dissenting voices’ which will be specifically relayed to the secretary after the vote; the comments will be attributed to the member who made them. Abstain – 0 Against – 0 In favour – 15 – motion carried
5th December 2020 NSC meeting Agenda item 15 – For this and the next NSC meeting we go with a majority vote i.e. the total of the in-favour votes is greater than the sum of the against and abstentions. The total of the votes is based on how many people are in the meeting and eligible to vote. Abstentions are made as members don’t have the confidence to make a yes or no decision so need to be accounted for. Abstain – 1 Against – 0 In favour – 9 Motion carried
5th December 2020 NSC meeting – Agenda item 7 Propose that when discussions diverge away from the agenda item, the Chairman can clarify with the sharer the new discussion point and raise it as an independent AOB item added to the end of the meeting or a sub- committee to discuss the item and report back to the NSC. Abstain – 2 Against – 0 In favour – 8 – motion carried

The Q&A (question and answer period) will provide a question from each language to be asked on a first come first serve basis. There will be a round robin of one question per language. Submit your question to your Interpreter who will submit the translation to Events. English speaking attendees can give their question to Events directly. There will be further instructions in the morning to help connect to the Interpretation channels, and more.
For safety, registration is a 2-Step process with Eventbrite and then with Zoom. Please expect a Zoom Invitation to REGISTER A SECOND TIME before the event. COMPLETE the ZOOM REGISTRTIO and the Zoom Webinar link to the Global Conversation with Ken & Mary will be sent to your email before 17th July.

At a National Service Committee (NSC) group conscience meeting on 5th December 2020 it was agreed that there would be a Group Inventory meeting conducted as a priority. This is to help us reflect on our service, to carry out our service roles in a healthy way and to share about our experience in service with the wider fellowship. It will take place instead of our quarterly business meeting.
We invite the fellowship to join us for this session of reflection and discussion, and hope that the experience will assist in sharing the message of service and healthy groups with the fellowship. Group inventories can be used for step groups, home groups and service groups, and allow us to focus on how the traditions and our ultimate authority, a loving Higher Power as expressed to our group conscience, guide our work and our daily lives.
The session will end with a period of reflection to determine the way forward for some of the organisational challenges the NSC has been discussing in recent meetings. This will include next steps on how regularly the NSC meets, and confirmation of the next meeting where regular business will resume, including items of business carried over from previous meetings.
If you would like to attend, please email northregion@codauk.org to register for the meeting link, any time before the meeting, stating which group you attend most regularly. Details of how to join, what software platform you will need and more details on how the inventory will be carried out will be circulated the week before the event.

Donations will be used to cover expenses, subsidise postage for literature during the pandemic and also to provide a donation to the Noddfa Centre.
After our very successful 6th Mixed Retreat at the beginning of this year at Noddfa, we are happy to announce our 7th annual retreat again. Due to the current situation with the pandemic unfortunately we cannot hold the retreat face-to-face at Noddfa in January 2021 but will be doing all we can to bring the spirit of Noddfa to the online retreat.
This is a Codependents Anonymous UK Approved Mixed Retreat. CoDA Traditions are observed, and only CoDA approved literature is available for.
The Codependents Anonymous Approved Mixed Retreat will adhere to the 12 Steps and 12 Traditions of Codependents Anonymous.
Codependents Anonymous is a spiritual program. 12 Step Meetings will be held throughout the weekend and CODA approved Literature will also be available. No outside speakers are involved.
Readings at meetings throughout the weekend will be taken from the following literature:
The CoDA big book
The codependents anonymous workbook
In this moment daily meditation book
Common threads of codependency
Peeling the onion
The twelve-piece relationship toolkit
It may benefit attendees to have this literature available during the retreat.
There will be a social gathering on the Saturday evening – please share your talents with us! (though do be mindful of Tradition 6, i.e. no outside enterprises). All activities are optional.
The retreat will take place online this year, hopefully returning to the wonderful location of Noddfa house in October and next January. Noddfa is home to a small extremely kind and friendly spiritual group of religious Sisters and is a venue used by 12 Step and numerous other groups throughout the year. It is a lovely old house with views of the sea and the hills. The grounds are full of trees, colourful shrubs and flowers. There is also a walled vegetable garden, a labyrinth and many other hidden treasures.
NODDFA is a Welsh word meaning ‘haven’ or ‘refuge’. A place of peace and welcome, a place where you can regain energy. This is the venue we have again chosen for our Retreat and we hope it will be a time for you to relax and recharge while taking time to be self- aware.
It is not compulsory to attend all the meetings if you do not wish to.
As the retreat will be held online this year there will be no charge for accommodation. 7th tradition donations and donations to support the work of Noddfa can be made during the retreat.

CoDA UK is holding its quarterly business meeting which is open to members from all the national meetings and representatives of regional groups.
Join us online/by phone to discuss national CoDA business and share news from your groups. Group Service Representatives (GSRs) are able to vote on any motions proposed.
The meeting will follow the successful recent format of 10 minutes per agenda item, with 30 second shares from each member before a vote is taken, if one is required. Please note that there is not enough time in the meeting to go through the written reports in detail so we ask all members to come prepared, having read the reports and agenda items in advance, so that we have time for questions in section 5, and sharing and reflection during each agenda item.
One paper will follow during the week and this will be added below.
We ask members to consider agenda item 3 to see if they can offer service at this meeting – as our previous secretary has now finished her role, we will need someone to take notes.
