*Fully booked* 26th-28th May 2023 CoDA Mixed Retreat – Noddfa

Friday 26th to Sunday 28th May 2023

May retreat now fully booked. Places for October 2023 and January 2024 to be opened up soon. Keep checking the website.

The CoDA Noddfa retreat committee are happy to announce an additional retreat is being organised this year at the ever popular and wonderful location of Noddfa, Penmaenmawr in North Wales. The Retreat runs from Friday 26th May to Sunday 28th May.

This is a bank holiday weekend so may allow members to attend who would find the restricted timing of travel to and from Borth Wales difficult. It may also allow more to stay over Sunday night to travel home on the Monday.

Additional meetings may be occurring on the Sunday and Monday after the usual retreat closure but will not be scheduled.

TO SECURE A PLACE
We can only offer a maximum of 27 rooms for this retreat. Places are expected to be taken quickly. Due to previous non-attendance and cancellations we are testing a new approach and boundaries.

Please first reserve a place with the committee, providing your email address and (mobile) phone number to CoDANoddfaRetreat@outlook.com or 07853865040

It is important that we be able to contact you to confirm your place and attendance on the retreat and to confirm numbers for our hosts.

We will then send you the payment information for Noddfa and ask you to directly to pay a non-refundable deposit of £30. Then send a receipt or screenshot from your payment (online banking app, reference etc).

Do not pay any money unless we have confirmed a place is available. Once your deposit is paid your place is confirmed.

The total cost for the retreat accommodation and facilities (including the deposit) for the Friday to Sunday is £160.

The retreat registration is £10 paid on arrival (cash preferred), to help with literature and admin costs etc.

Location:
NODDFA, Conwy Old Road, Penmaenmawr, North Wales LL34 6YF

Additionally, there is a £10 Registration Fee to be paid on arrival which goes to CoDA.

There will be an initial cut off for reserving places on the 28th April.

Please not that you may also arrange separately with NODDFA if you wish to stay on the nights before or after the retreat.

Retreat timings

Registration is from 4pm on 26th May (Dinner 6.30pm) and the retreat ends Sunday 28th May at 3pm.

  • This is a Codependents Anonymous UK Approved Mixed Retreat. CoDA Traditions are observed, and only CoDA approved literature is available for sale.
  • The retreat will adhere to the 12 Steps and 12 Traditions of Codependents Anonymous.
  • No outside speakers are involved.

There will be a social gathering on the Saturday evening – please share your talents with us! (though do be mindful of Tradition 6, i.e. no outside enterprises). All activities are optional.

Readings at meetings throughout the weekend will be taken from the following literature:

  • The CoDA big book
  • The Codependents Anonymous Workbook
  • In This Moment daily meditation book
  • …along with reading selections from CoDA approved literature.

CoDA literature will be available to purchase during the retreat.

Bring along a teddy, picture of yourself as a child and anything that may help reach and comfort your child within.

The Retreat will take place at Noddfa spirituality centre. Noddfa is home to a small, extremely kind and friendly spiritual group of religious Sisters and is a venue used by 12 Step and numerous other groups throughout the year. It is a lovely old house with views of the sea and the hills. The grounds are full of trees, colourful shrubs and flowers. There is also a walled vegetable garden, a labyrinth and many other hidden treasures.

NODDFA is a Welsh word meaning ‘haven’ or ‘refuge’. A place of peace and welcome, a place where you can regain energy. This is the venue we have again chosen for our Retreat and we hope it will be a time for you to relax and recharge while taking time to be self-aware.

During your stay it is not compulsory to attend all the meetings if you do not wish to.

The beach is a 10 minute walk downhill, and obviously it takes longer coming back. The mountains are also accessible and the grounds around Noddfa are vast. Most of the bedrooms are for single occupancy and each floor has ample washing facilities and plenty of tea-making areas.

The rooms (and attendance) will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.

Any further CoDA queries for the retreat
Please contact the retreat committee by phone / Whatsapp on 07853865040 or by email CoDANoddfaRetreat@outlook.com

The food at Noddfa is wholesome and plentiful (and their soda bread is delicious!) If you need a special diet i.e. vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free etc. please inform us when you are arranging your place.

We are looking forward to an exciting and uplifting Retreat and to
welcome new and previous participants.
