The London & South East Region (LSER) is an area-wide group formed to enable connection between the CoDA groups in our area – Greater London, Kent, Essex and the South East coastal area, some parts of Cambridge, Suffolk & Surrey (currently the LSER is the only Region covering the South of the UK so there are no hard and fast area boundaries; you can be part of the Region if you want to be).
Meetings are principally a forum for Group Service Representatives (GSRs) and members to come together in CoDA spiritual principles of service and unity to discuss CoDA business, share what is working in their meetings, raise issues, and discuss putting on events and other community building activities, such as workshops, conventions or visiting speakers.
We have a GSRs forum at every meeting for GSRs to connect with other groups in sharing experience about issues affecting their groups.
Meetings are online every 3 months, usually on the 2nd Saturday in Jan, Apr, July and Oct between 1.30 and 5pm.
At present we have a Chair, Treasurer, Communications Secretary and Regional Representative, and we hope to attract members into service to be able to carry out other community activities as mentioned above.
To contact us, or if you or your group would like to be kept informed about LSER committee meetings, receive agendas and minutes of committee meetings, and any other regional announcements, please email the comms secretary, Annie W at coda.uk.se.region@gmail.com with your name, which meeting you represent, and whether you are the Group Service Rep (GSR) or just a member. In the email please state that you give permission for LSER to hold your details (name, email address and service position if applicable) in a list for the purpose of sending out LSER information and announcements only. You can unsubscribe at any time by sending an email with ‘REMOVE’ in the subject line.
If your group would like to send a 7th Tradition contribution please contact the LSER Treasurer at treasurer.lser@gmail.com to request bank details.
To request an item to be added to the next LSER agenda please download this form and send to Andy (Chair) at shellac777@yahoo.com
If you’d like to send a GSR report you’re welcome to use this form and send to Annie (Comms Sec) at coda.uk.se.region@gmail.com or report orally at the meeting.
What are the advantages of connecting meetings to form an Intergroup?
- Responses from members (sharing experience, strength and hope):
- Having a voice
- Being the voice from your group and to your group (if you are a Group Service Representative)
- Connecting with other members
- Sharing different ideas and support for putting on events including retreats, conventions or workshops.
- Practicing recovery skills, using the traditions and carrying the message (Tradition Twelve)
- Working as a group (you don’t have to do it all yourself)!
- Joining together to support the Voting Entities in sending delegates to the CoDA Service Conference.
