CoDAteen – set up a meeting

A recovery space for young adults

  • You need to have a CoDA Adult Meeting to sponsor your meeting*
    • Hold an Adult CoDA Group Conscience business meeting in your home group
    • Elect two adult CoDA members who are over 25 years who are actively working the CoDA Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions and meet the CoDA Minimum Behavioural & Safety requirements. Each member completes the CoDAteen vetting form
    • Consider a convenient location and time to hold the CoDAteen meeting, which is best suited, safe, and secure for teenagers
  • You need to have at least two Adult Host/Meeting Sponsors (AH/MS)* that provide support to the CoDAteen meeting and that are approved by the adult CoDA meeting and the CoDAteen Committee
    • In parallel with vetting of adult hosts, the CoDA meeting needs to submit every Adult Host/Meeting Sponsor for DBS Checks.** Details supplied after successful checks need to be shared with CoDAteen

NOTE: Every Adult Host/Meeting Sponsor must be screened and trained by CoDAteen, checked by the relevant governmental body**, and be on the CoDAteen checked members list
  • Your new meeting needs to be registered on CoDA.org/CoDAteen. Once Step One is complete, these last two steps can be worked in parallel, but both must be completed before your first meeting.

*Adults never sponsor CoDAteens, teens co-sponsor one another
** UK checks – the official body/advisors to contact, depends on the location of the meeting:
