CoDA Women’s Retreat at Douai Abbey, Upper Woolhampton, Berkshire, RG7 5TQ

Come and enjoy a weekend of CoDa recovery and fellowship in the peaceful setting of Douai Abbey in Upper Woolhampton near Reading.
This is a CoDA approved retreat for women only. CoDA is a spiritual programme and we uphold the traditions and principles of CoDA, adhering to the 12 steps & 12 traditions adapted from Alcoholics Anonymous. CoDA UK approved: CoDA Traditions are observed and only CoDA approved literature is available for sale – for full details of CoDA Approval please refer to the CoDA UK section of the CoDA UK website – http://www.CoDAUK.ORG.
This year capacity is restricted to 12 attendees, with no day guests (contrary to previous experiences).
Registration will take place between 4-6pm on Friday 3rd September. Dinner will be at 7pm followed by a Welcome Ceremony where timetabling of meetings will be provided. Various 12 Step/topic/chair meetings will be held throughout the weekend and CoDA approved literature will be available (do bring cash for any purchases). There will be a social gathering on Saturday evening – an opportunity to share your talents with us – please be mindful of Tradition 6 i.e. no outside enterprise. Sunday lunch is followed by the Closing Ceremony (finish 3pm). All activities are optional. Please note the gate will be locked at 11pm each evening.
The venue will require people to strictly adhere to the government’s Covid restrictions in place at the time of the event. (FYI the venue has told us they will not add any Covid restrictions over and above those required by the government at the time of the event).
Accommodation and costs
There is a range of accommodation available. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis however please let us know if you have special requirements when booking. Be aware that places often book up fast, so we cannot guarantee first choice of rooms. Please contact us if you have any questions, and note bookings/payments deadline of Monday 31st July.

Douai Abbey provides hearty food. It can accommodate some special dietary requirements only if specified in advance i.e. vegetarian, vegan and specified food allergies. Please indicate as necessary when booking.

There is car parking available on site. The nearest station is Midgham (trains run from Paddington, Reading & Newbury). There is no taxi rank at the station so please follow the Douai website directions to pre-book a taxi from the station if necessary.

Please note: to ensure financial manageability and meet venue requirements the final cut-off for bookings/payments is Monday 31st July. Bookings are only confirmed on receipt of full payment, and places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. There will be £10 charge on refunds for cancellations made before the 31st July. Refunds after that date are at the discretion of the venue. Should a cancellation occur due to changing Covid restrictions, we will endeavour to provide refunds to anyone not in a position to attend.
